Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is anotherwonderful short days of trekking in the territory of Annapurna Conservation Area Nepal. For the Jomsom Muktinath trekking you take a seven hours scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. On the next morning of your arrival in Pokhara you will be taken to Nayapul where you will trek to Tikhedhunga. You will then make you way to Ghorepani and Poon Hill where you will take in a sunrise view of many major mountains. This is considered by many to be the most scenic view in all the Himalayas. You will then transition out of the Gurung villages, as you make your way north into the land of the Thakali. After a few days of enjoying the world famous Thakali hospitality and food you will arrive in Jomsom, the capital of Lower Mustang. From Jomsom you continue your trek to Kagbeni, the medieval looking Tibetan village. The trail goes along Kaligandaki River. You spend overnight at the local lodge/ hotel at Kagbeni. On the next morning you move up to Muktinath. Muktinath is the pilgrimage center of Hindus as well as Buddhist. In Muktinath you see Tibetan traders and Hindu sadhus (holy men) from as far away as the south of India. Here you may visit the Muktinath temple, shrines of different Hindugods and goddess, springs and natural gas spot or you may choose to visit the local villages. From Muktinath you retrace your steps to Jomsom and then catch a flight to Pokhara the next morning. (If the flights are cancelled due to whether we will take Jeeps or buses back to Pokhara.)
From the trail of this trekking route you see panoramic sunrise view of Mt Annapurna 1 (8091), Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt Tilicho (7134m), Mt Thorang La (5415 m) and Mt Nilgiri (7061m). Another major attraction of this trekking is the diversity of culture and life style of the indigenous groups. Further south we will enjoy Gurung, Mugar, and Tamang cultures. As we move north we will enjoy the Thakali and the Baahra Gaunle.
